TEACHING:

Matt is available to teach private jazz and classical piano lessons, group piano class, composition lessons, improvisation lessons for any instrument, and to give workshops and clinics at educational institutions. TEACHING EXPERIENCE:

As an educator, Matt has taught both classical and jazz piano lessons to students of all levels and ages. He has given workshops alongside performances at a variety of educational institutions including: Drake University, Interlochen Center for the Arts, University Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Middleton High School in Middleton, WI, Appleton Public Montessori, Clovis Grove Elementary School in Menasha, WI, Nicolet Elementary School in Menasha, WI, and Wilson Elementary School in Neenah, WI. He has also had the opportunity to intern at the New York Jazz Academy in New York City helping teach jazz piano lessons, jazz theory courses, and coach small ensembles. Matt received a Bachelor of Music degree from Lawrence University and had the opportunity to study with Tim Albright, Bill Carrothers, Patty Darling, José Encarnación, Michael Mizrahi, Anthony Padilla, and Matt Turner. While at Lawrence, he also studied piano pedagogy with Mary Van De Loo. Currently, Matt teaches private lessons at Brighter Minds Music and All Things Musik in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He also works as a vocal and dance accompanist at St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists.
